Avonmore Munster Schools Junior Cup goes to Musgrave Park

The Avonmore Munster Schools Junior cup-final between CBC and ASR has been fixed for Musgrave Park on Wed 28th March KO 3.00 pm.

Rockwell retain Avonmore Munster Schools Senior Cup 2012

March 19th 2012.

Rockwell College retained the Avonmore Munster Schools Cup in Thomond Park by defeating St.Munchins College 6-5. In a hard fought contest St. Munchins seemed to have the greater fire-power up front and were unfortunate to have gone in at half time with only a five point lead. however the second half saw a different Rockwell team that threatened the St,Munchins line on several occasions to be rewarded with two converted penalties, after resisting sustained St.Munchins pressure in their own 22 the last ten minutes belonged to Rockwell as they pressed for the finishing score which they were denied. the game finished Rockwell 6-5 St.Munchins. Rockwell will now be looking forward to three Munster Senior Schools Cups in a row in 2013 but no doubt the other Munster rugby schools will have their say next year

Away teams book their place in the Avonmore Munster Schools Senior Cup in Thomond Park on March 19th 2012

Both away teams defeated their cork rivals in cork to book their place in the Avonmore Munster Schools Senior Cup this week. On Wedensday Rockwell defeated CBC in Musgrave Park by a margin of 0-11, and on Thursday St.Munchins defeated the PBC team in Temple Hill by 13- 17. The Cashel School and the Corbally Limerick School have ten days to prepare for what surely will be a classic encounter in Thomond Park on Bankholiday Monday 19th March KO 3.00

Avonmore Senior and Junior Cup progress Wed 29th Feb 2012

PBC progressed to the Semi-final of the Avonmore Munster Schools Senior cup by defeating Glenstal Abbey 13-11. They now play St.Munchins in a Cork venue.

Avonmore Munster Schools Junior Cup:

CBC 12- GAS 6, PBC 26-St.Munchins 15, Cas 10- CCC 8

Three schools have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Avonmore Munster Schools Junior Cup and await the outcome of the ASR V Rockwell game due to be played on 1st. March in Garryowen KO 3.30.
